Principal Secretary for State Department for Internal Security and National Administration Raymond Omollo has listed benefits that Nyanza will get after President William Ruto‘s visit.

Ruto concluded his four-day tour of the Nyanza counties in Kisumu on Saturday, August 30, 2024, where he launched several projects and addressed a visibly jovial crowd.

Omollo was part of the government’s leaders who accompanied the Head of State and has now listed what benefits the visit will give the region.

“This working weekend, on the final day of President William Ruto’s four-day development tour in Nyanza, we joined him in Kisumu County to oversee several transformative projects.

“Among the initiatives were the groundbreaking of the Lake Victoria Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre, which will enhance safety on the lake and boost maritime activities; the commissioning of the Kibos Rice Mill, which is set to revolutionize local agriculture, empowering farmers and driving economic growth.

“The foundation-laying for the Lumumba Affordable Housing project that marks a crucial step toward providing quality, affordable homes for Kisumu residents and finally, the inauguration of the Nyabondo Trauma Centre that will significantly improve access to critical healthcare services in the region,” Omollo said in a post on X on Saturday, August 31, 2024.

Omollo said they are grateful for the president’s visit because it has brought development projects.

“We extend our gratitude to President Ruto for his deliberate drive to push these impactful development projects and programs witnessed across the country,” he concluded.

Gachagua’s call

Deputy Rigathi Gachagua was part of the contingent that accompanied the president. He also listed the benefits Nyanza will get following the tour.

“It is vital for every Kenyan to get access to affordable healthcare. This is the key objective of the Universal Health Coverage being rolled out by the Ruto Administration.

“The Nyabondo Mission Hospital and Trauma Centre in Nyakach Constituency, officially opened by President William Ruto today, will play a crucial role in the achievement of UHC in addition to offering requisite health services to the people,” the DP said.

Gachagua added that it is now time to focus on development and service to the people. He and Ruto addressed a number of rallies in Kondele Estate and Kisumu Stage in Kisumu.

Affordable Housing is among the projects the president launched.

“The quest to dignify thousands of families through an affordable housing programme remains top of the government’s agenda. Thousands of Kenyans will benefit from the Lumumba Affordable Housing in Kisumu City,” the DP concluded.
