Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba on Monday, October 28, 2024, oversaw the distribution of examination papers ahead of the start of the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA).

In a statement, Ogamba supervised the distribution of exams from a container at Westlands, Nairobi as part of the day one exam scheduled for today, October 28, 2024.

During this year’s KPSEA exams, some 1,313,913 students are expected to sit for the Mathematics paper from 8: 30 am to 9: 50 am as the first exam followed by the English paper from 10: 50 am to 11: 50 am.

While the regular students will only have an hour to complete the English grammar paper, those with hearing impairment and the visually challenged will be given an extra 20 minutes.

On Tuesday, the examinations will begin at 8: 30 am with the Integrated Science paper which will end at 10: 10 am, taking one hour and 20 minutes for the regular students.

However, the same paper will be administered to those with hearing impairment for two hours and ten minutes.

Thereafter, the learners will embark on a 30-minute break before returning to the examination rooms for the Kiswahili paper from 11: 10 am to 12: 10 pm.

Learners with visual impairment will be allocated an extra 20 minutes for the paper while those with speech impairment will take the Kenya Sign Language exams between 11:10 am and 12: 10 pm.

KPSEA last day

Day three which will be on October 30, 2024, will see the students sit their last paper beginning from 8:30 am with the Creative Arts &Social Studies paper which will end at 10:10 am for regular students while the same paper will take 2 hours and 10 minutes for the visually impaired.

During the entire examination period, the students are expected to stay in the exam rooms until the allocated time elapses. Also, they are required not to take either the exam question paper or the answer sheet outside of the exam room.

Candidates who engage in any form of examination irregularity will have their results as 00 and the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) indicates that in case there is widespread exam irregularities, the whole exam centre could have their results cancelled.

Gaining unauthorized access to exam papers, damaging the exam material and impersonation of a candidate is among the irregularities which carry hefty fines and prison sentences.
