Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Migos Ogamba has stated that his docket has put measures in place to ensure credible examinations across all learning institutions as candidates in different levels sit for their national exams.

Speaking on Monday morning, October 27, 2025, as candidates across the country began their Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA), Kenya Junior School Education Assessment (KJSEA), Kenya Intermediate Level Education Assessment (KILEA), and Kenya Pre-Vocational Level Education Assessment, Ogamba said everything is working according to plan to deliver a credible exercise.

The CS opened the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) container at the Bureti Deputy County Commissioner’s Offices in Litein, Kericho County, marking the official start of the examinations and assessments in the area. He later visited Kipsigis Girls’ High School in the same county.

”The Ministry has taken key steps to ensure a credible examination and assessment process through enhanced security features, personalised question papers, and strict phone protocols. These measures are aimed at ensuring that the results reflect the honest work and effort of the candidates,” Migos said on X.

The commencement of national examinations comes a week after Julius Migos briefed President William Ruto on the ministry’s preparedness for the national examinations kick-off. The CS, in his Tuesday, October 21, 2025, statement, said all the parties involved in the particular exercise are set to play their respective roles as candidates at different levels sit for their national papers.

The arrangements for the 2025 assessments are complete, and we are confident that all stakeholders – candidates, teachers, parents, invigilators, and supervisors – will work together to ensure a smooth and successful exercise,” Ogamba stated.
