NTSA grounds Modern Coast buses

The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has suspended licence for Modern Coast Express Limited following Thursday dawn accident involving two of their buses that left seven people dead.
“Following the early Thursday morning crash involving two of their buses, the Authority has with immediate effect suspended the company’s operating licence,” read the statement by NTSA.
The morning accident occurred at Kiongwani in Makueni County on the Mombasa Nairobi Highway.
Four people died on the spot while three others died while receiving treatment.
Makueni County Commander confirmed the accident cautioning drivers against dangerous overtaking.
Modern Coast operates 88 vehicles and their absence on the road has already been felt after hundreds of travelers who had booked tickets with the company were left stranded in major towns.
