National job recruitment program

Days after Labour and Social Protection Cabinet Secretary Alfred Mutua announced launch of national job recruitment program aimed at creating overseas employment opportunities for skilled and semi-skilled Kenyans, Machakos residents will today, November 20, 2024, turn out to try their lack.

Mutua had on November 18, stated that the program would kick off today at the Machakos Technical Institute for the Blind at 8:00 am, and will cover all 47 counties, with at least 20 counties targeted for recruitment before the end of the year.

According to Mutua, the first phase of this program will offer 20,000 job opportunities abroad.

“During an earlier interactive meeting with local recruitment agents working in partnership with the government, I confirmed that the first phase of this program will offer 20,000 job opportunities abroad. To ensure a smooth application process, I urge all applicants to secure proper documentation. This includes applying for certificates of good conduct and passports through the E-Citizen platform,” he stated.

During today’s exercise, Mutua advised candidates to bring their academic and professional documents, passport (For those who have one), E-citizen passport registration details, and snacks to the interviews.

“Please ensure you carry the following to the interviews: 1.All your academic and professional documents 2.Passport (For those who have one) 3.E-citizen passport registration details 4. A snack to keep you energized throughout the day. Plan accordingly and best of luck!” Mutua advised.

Rainfall

Moderate rainfall is today Wednesday, November 20, 2024, expected in Nairobi and its environments.

In a weather forecast by the Kenya Meteorological Department (Kenya Met), several parts of the city and other satellite towns will experience downpours starting in the morning.

According to the weatherman, the rainfall is likely to disrupt activities as it has been predicted to start at 9:00 am.

Some of the areas listed include Westlands, Kasarani, Kibra, Embakasi East, Lang’ata, Dagoretti South, Starehe and Mathere.

Kamukunji and Embakasi North are expected to receive high rainfall on Wednesday according to Kenya Met’s advisory.

Surrounding areas such as Thika Town, Gatundu, Limuru, Kabete, Lari, Kiambaa, Juja and Ruiru are also expected to experience rainfall in the morning.
