Football Kenya Federation (FKF) President Nick Mwendwa has dismissed action taken by Sports Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohamed to disband the soccer body as fake and baseless.

Mwendwa said no court has found the FKF officials guilty of any offence and, therefore, they will not step aside.

“How comes she has declared us guilty without any court process. What law is that? He posed.

Mwendwa cited MPs and governors who have been taken through court process because of corruption allegations before being barred from office.

“We will continue with football. If anyone wants to stop us, let them do it so that we see what will happen,” he added.

Sports Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohammed on Thursday disbanded the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) and she formed a caretaker committee to govern the country’s football.

The CS said the committee with run Kenyan football for the next six months and it will be chaired by retired Justice Aaron Ringera.

Other members of the committee include Hassan Haji, Elisha Kiplagat, Anthony Isayi, General Retired Moses Oyugi and Fatma Adan.
