Kenyans took to various social media platforms to mourn fallen former President Daniel arap Moi who ruled the country for 24 years.
“Dear President Daniel Toroitich Arap Moi, as you lie in the bosom of Abraham, know that am truly grateful for your leadership, wisdom, and guidance.
We had the most improbable crossing of paths and you offered me your friendship… I celebrate your life,” lawyer Donald Kipkorir wrote on Twitter.
Political Scientist Mutahi Ngunyi said: “This is what arap Moi taught us: “…know the rules well so that you can break them effectively”. to the clan of taught political scientists, this man was a legend. Sleep well mzee.”
Larry Kosgey wrote: “He was a good teacher, anything he touched prospered, he had the nation’s interest at heart. Rest well baba Moi”
“As a young boy we sung for Mzee Moi with full of energy and enthusiasm those days! I will remember you mzee for both good and bad, as you sleep you left me with one memory ‘siasa mbaya maisha mbaya,” Amakanji Thomas.
Sports enthusiast and radio host Carol Radull said: “There is no denying he loved the beautiful game. He never missed a Harambee Stars home game if he was in the country,”
Julius Mmasi observed: “Rest In Peace Mzee Daniel Arap Moi, You fed us with Plenty of Nyayo Milk in the 90s. You will be remembered for peace, love and unity of the country philosophy.
Mmasi added: “You wholesomely loved and genuinely encouraged Education.Your wisdom will be missed.”
“According to majority of Kenyans form president Daniel arap Moi was the among the best believers who humbled themselves and apologised for whoever he had wronged,” wrote Nicholas Trump Oseko.
