Newly elected Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Nairobi East branch chairman Amos Otieno, better known as Wakili, has urged football stakeholders within the county to prepare their respective clubs for the upcoming season.

The soft-spoken chairman hinted at the commencement of a competitive 2020-21 season in December stating the exact date will be communicated after further consultation with the national office.

“We are hoping our teams will be back in the playing grounds by December and we are looking forward to announcing the kick-off date once we a have a discussion with our main office to adhere to set of directives that will be issued by the Ministry of Health to combat Covid-19 pandemic,” said Wakili during the announcement of a partnership deal between the Nairobi East branch and Amref.

This partnership seeks not only to build women football in the region but also mentor and nurture the young footballers, coaches and referees.

The first edition of the exercise saw women coaches from Embakasi East and South constituencies trained and given certificates during the one day event.
