Mystery deepens on death of Gilgil mother, children
Tens of questions are now emerging over the controversial death of a woman and her three children in Gilgil last week.
Details of foul play have emerged in the incident where the bodies of the three boys were found lying on the bed while the body of their mother hanging from the ceiling.
It has emerged that the minors died a week ago because of poisoning while the mother died days later with questions over a gunny bag found around her head.
On Friday, residents of the Teachers-B estate were left in shock after finding the bodies of the woman identified as Mollen Akinyi (pictured)and her three children dead inside their house.
The woman allegedly took her life using a rope while the minors were killed through poisoning as their father, who is a Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) officer, served the country in Somalia.
Gilgil police boss John Onditi said they had not ruled out foul play in the incident with the sleuths following several leads.
He confirmed that the state of the minors’ bodies and that of the mother was different, adding that they were waiting for a post-mortem report.
“We are looking at various angles in these deaths and we have involved a scene of crime officers to help get to the bottom of the matter,” he said. A source involved in the investigations said they were not ruling out foul play in the murder after several questions emerged.
The officer noted that initial investigations indicated that the minors died a week ago while the body of the woman was still fresh.
