Murkomen lashes to the government over cancellation of dams projects

Elgeyo Marakwet senator Kipchumba Murkomen has lashed out at the government for cancellation of the original valuation of the dam projects in the county.
Speaking at Chepsirei TTI, Murkomen said that the projects ought to continue in its original intended designs without alterations.
“What happened in the cancellation of the projects is the conmanship, we have seen projects across the country valued at billions but none has been questioned as being expensive”, he said.
Murkomen defended embattled CS for Finance Henry Rotich over allegations of corruptions in the projects saying everything was done above board and would have boosted the agriculture sub sector within the valley in irrigating over 6,000 acres of farmland.
He said that there is choreographed version to clamp down on projects that would otherwise give fair ground for the Jubilee leadership to continue in power.
“The response to the cancellation is not here nor there, we are left to wonder whether the money allocated was more or the technical equirements were deficient”, he said.
