Muhoho Kenyatta delivered a touching tribute to the late Cyrus Jirongo, a man he said left him in awe of his vast range of knowledge.

Speaking during the deceased’s requiem mass at the CITAM Valley Road on Saturday, December 27, 2025, Muhoho revealed that the news of Jirongo’s demise shocked him deeply, prompting several phone calls even after the initial confirmation.

Full of life

.”When Gideon Moi confirmed the news to me, I still could not believe it. Cyrus was a man full of energy and life, and just the thought of him not being with us was really unfathomable,” he recollected.

In his recollection of the former MP, Muhoho fondly remembered Jirongo’s suave personality, coupled with a deep understanding of a wide range of matters.

“Today, we celebrate a man who was larger than life. Jirongo was misunderstood by many, including me when I first met him. We had several sessions where we would meet to deliberate on issues. He always brought depth to all we discussed. He had many ideas, a rare energy that came with charisma,” he stated.

His remarks come after Jirongo’s business associates also sought to clarify the source of the former MP’s vast wealth.

Amayo, one of Jirongo’s partners, clarified that the late politician’s fortunes came after he entered politics.

He refuted assertions that Jirongo’s empire came from politics.

Source of Jirongo’s wealth

According to him, Jirongo had already built a vast empire by the time they met and later, when Jirongo decided to enter competitive politics.

“There have been a lot of stories about Jirongo and where he made his wealth from. I would like to put it here today in broad daylight. By the time I met Jirongo before we started YK92, when he was just in his late 20s, he had already built Hazina Estate and was building Kemri Estate. We were on site, in Saika Estate, by the time we were getting into politics,” he disclosed.

The late politician will be buried on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at his Lumakanda home in Lugari Constituency.
