Mudavadi pays tribute to MP Denar Hamisi

Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has paid tribute to the late nominated Member of Parliament Denar Joseph Hamisi, who passed away on Saturday morning, December 6, 2025.

The news of MP Hamisi’s demise was announced by the National Assembly Speaker, Moses Wetang’ula, who described the deceased as a legislator who served the August House and the nation with unwavering dedication, humility, and commitment as a member of the Departmental Committee on Sports & Culture and the Select Committee on National Cohesion & Equal Opportunities.

”It is with profound sadness that I announce the passing of our colleague, Nominated Member, the late Hon. Denar Joseph Hamisi, MP, who left us this morning,” Wetang’ula announced MP Hamisi’s death via X.

”His extensive service in both the public and private sectors before joining Parliament stands as a testament to his lifelong devotion to Kenya. On behalf of the National Assembly, the entire parliamentary fraternity, and on my own behalf, I extend my deepest and most heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, constituents, and all who were touched by his steadfast service,” Wetang’ula’s statement added.

On his part, Mudavadi eulogised the MP as a diligent, loyal and resolute leader. Mudavadi hailed the late MP’s ability to mobilise and inspire others along his career line.

”Hon. Denar was a diligent, loyal, and resolute leader who consistently stood by his principles. He was never swayed by political currents he did not believe in. His forthright character and exceptional ability to mobilise and inspire others earned him respect across the political divide. I extend my heartfelt condolences to his family, relatives, friends, and colleagues in Parliament during this difficult moment. May God grant them strength, comfort, and peace in this trying time,” Musalia Mudavadi said via his X account on Saturday, December 6, 2025.

Following the passing of Denar Hamisi, Speaker Moses Wetang’ula has announced the burial arrangements, revealing that a team led by Deputy Leader of the Majority Party, Owen Baya Yaa, has been appointed to liaise with the family and support a befitting farewell.
