‘Forming Office of the Spouse to Prime CS is a step in the right direction’ – Mudavadi

Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has maintained that the Office of the Spouse to the Prime Cabinet Secretary is an important position that should be invented.

In a post shared via his official Twitter account, the CS insisted that forming the position is a step in the ‘right’ direction for the country.

He explained that spouses of political leaders contributed to the family set up and their contributions should be mirrored to the larger society.

“I believe the days when the spouses of political leaders only appear in ceremonies and say or do nothing are gone,” he stated.

“Their contribution in our family set-up should be mirrored to the larger society for they learn so much from our daily leadership engagements. Forming the Office of the Spouse to The Prime Cabinet Secretary is a step in the right direction,” he added.

Earlier Mudavadi announced that he was soon launching the position at the Movenpick hotel. A move that received backlash from a section of Kenyans.

“The Office of the Prime Cabinet Secretary H.E (DR) Musalia Mudavadi, E.G.H. invites your Media House to the launch of the Office of the Spouse to the Prime Cabinet Secretary,” a media invite read in parts.

The CS’s wife Tessie Shangatti Mudavadi will assume the office which is reported to have been established by the government to complement the activities of First Lady Rachael Ruto and Second Lady Dorcas Gachagua.

“The Office of The Spouse to the Prime Cabinet Secretary was established by the Government to complement the work being done by the Office of the First Lady and the Office of the Spouse to the Deputy President,” Mudavadi’s communication team intimated to a local publication.
