Members of the National Assembly will meet today for a Special Sitting to consider President William Ruto’s nominees for the position of Director of Public Prosecutions and Chairman of the board of Central Bank of Kenya (CBK).

The lawmakers will debate the report of the Committee on Justice and Legal Affairs, that vetted Renson Ingonga for the position of DPP, and that of Finance and National Planning and the Senate Standing Committee on Finance and Budget, which vetted former Jubilee Party National Elections Board chair Andrew Musangi for the position of CBK chairman.

MPs sitting in both committees said members would unanimously approve the nominees.

If approved, Ingonga (pictured) will replace Noordin Haji following his appointment in June as the Director-General National Intelligence Service (NIS).

Musangi, who is a lawyer and a senior consultant at LJA associates, will replace Mohamed Nyaoga whose four year-year term as CBK board chairman expired in June.
