MP Majimbo Kalasinga claims his watchman lost hands and legs after goons attacked his home

Kabuchai MP Majimbo Kalasinga has broken silence on the violent attack on his home on Saturday, November 22, 2025, after he hosted Trans Nzoia governor George Natembeya and his convoy in Bungoma County.

The entourage was campaigning for Erick Wekesa, an independent candidate eyeing the Chwele-Kabuchai MCA seat.

In a statement on his Facebook page on Sunday, Kalasinga confirmed that the attack left one of his guards permanently disabled after losing his limbs.

The lawmaker condemned perpetrators of the barbaric act, stating that they will be eternally haunted by it.

“You invaded my home and injured one of my watchmen; as I talk, he lost both his hands and legs. This is a man who has a family and was just trying to earn a living and provide for his family,” he said.

The MP’s remarks come after his residence in Chwele, Kabuchai Constituency, was attacked and vandalised by a violent mob on Saturday.

A video shared online by the Trans Nzoia governor on Saturday, November 22, 2025, depicted the extent of destruction meted out at the legislator’s house, where windows of the two-story apartment were broken, with pieces of glass strewn all over.

The incident sparked widespread uproar, with Governor Natembeya and former Bungoma Governor Wycliffe Wangamati leading the first to condemn it.

The former placed the blame on Speaker Moses Wetangula’s doorstep, accusing him of sending goons to intimidate the politician.

“It is sad that a leader in the national assembly is the one doing these things. Sending goons to come to destroy the home of an MP because of different political ideologies,” he lamented.

Condemnation

Wangamati similarly expressed his abhorrence for the act through a post on his Facebook page.

“If a whole speaker of the National Assembly can send goons to vandalise the house of a member of the National Assembly just because of an MCA seat by-election. Then indeed these are desperate times,” Wangamati stated.

The Democracy Action Party of Kenya (DAP-K) also decried the incident through a post on its social media page.

The party demanded action from the IEBC and other relevant bodies.

“Political violence in Kabuchai, Bungoma County, by goons associated with Speaker Wetang’ula. The house of Kabuchai MP Majimbo Kalasinga has been attacked and destroyed. This is unacceptable, @IEBCKenya, @NPSOfficial_KE, and @DCI_Kenya,” the DAP-K statement condemning the incident stated.
