Lurambi MP Titus Khamala has taken on his fellow Luhya leaders who are opposed to Amani National Congress (ANC) party Leader Musalia Mudavadi’s presidential bid.

Bishop Khamala accused some Luhya leaders of dining at the neighbour’s home just for the sake of fighting Mudavadi.

“How do you despise your own son or brother in favour of a neighbour’s? Why can’t you love him even with his weaknesses?” the MP posed.

He added: “Even if you eat at the neighbour’s home, do you burn your own house when you return?”

He said Luhyas had the best opportunity to ascend to the Presidency in 2022 through Mudavadi.

He said the ANC party leader was likeable across the country and would be the most suitable successor to President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Speaking in his constituency when he commissioned several projects done through the Constituency Development Fund, Khamala urged Matungu residents to vote for the ANC candidate Peter Oscar Nabulindo in the March 4 by-election so as to boost Mudavadi’s chances of winning the Presidency.

He said the Western region was now marginalised because it was viewed as divided and weak.

“I am urging my parents, brothers and sisters of Matungu to vote for Nabulindo as a boost to Mudavadi’s presidential bid.

The by-election outcome will give him the impetus to negotiate for our share at the national table,” he added.

He said robust development was going on around the country but not in Western.

He questioned the community roots of some of the leaders opposed to Mudavadi’s presidential bid.

The legislator gave contractors undertaking projects in his constituency three months to complete the works or be blacklisted and others hired.
