MP blasts Raila, accuses him of gatecrashing Uhuru’s Ukambani tour
Kaiti Member of Parliament Hon. Joshua Kimilu has accused the former PM Raila Odinga of gatecrashing the president’s Ukambani tour.
This, he said after Raila showed up unexpected and unaccompanied at Thwake in Makueni County On Friday, July 9.
Raila surprised many local leaders and the Wiper leader after jetting in a few minutes after President Uhuru Kenyatta’s arrival.
Kimilu who termed Raila’s impromptu visit as ‘following the head of state wherever he goes’ asked him to accept and deputize the Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka if he wishes for any success come 2022.
“We have no problem with Mr Odinga gatecrashing but he must know that if they are to work together with Wiper then let him accept to second Musyoka,” Kimilu noted.
Kimilu further stated that it was only Kalonzo who has the political muscles to wrestle Deputy President William Ruto.
“It is Musyoka who can defeat Ruto, so let Odinga accept to play second fiddle,” he added.
During the president’s visit, Raila declined to address the gathering even after Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana requested severally to allow him (Odinga) to speak.
The Wiper boss had trolled him for crashing the delegation tour.
“Thank you for coming. We did not expect you here but God has enabled you to come to Ukambani. We are one united team,” Kalonzo said at Thwake.
Before Kibwana spoke, Odinga shook his head implying a refusal to address the people and changed position on the podium shared by Uhuru, Musyoka, several cabinet secretaries, governors and MPs.
