Parents have been urged to be good examples to their children to tame rising cases of truancy in schools.
Khwisero Member of Parliament Christopher Aseka said children ape the behaviour of their parents and guardians.
He said the recent destructive incidents in schools across the country had mostly to do with poor upbringing.
“Parents and leaders should be good role models to their children. Most cases of indiscipline amongst learners originate from home,” he added.
Speaking at the weekend, the MP said the 800 students placed on full scholarship by the constituency fund and Aseka Miradi Foundation will be sponsored up to the university.
