MP accuses politicians of influencing TSC hires

Emuhaya MP Omboko Milemba has accused politicians of hijacking teaching positions advertised by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) to reward their cronnies.

Omboko (pictured) while addressing Vihiga residents yesterday said there is no fairness in the recruitment of teachers by TSC because most of the positions have been grabbed by politicians.

Omboko said he is going to raise the matter with the National Assembly to have politicians blocked from interfering with the operations of TSC.

“I regret to note that the politicians have hijacked the operations of TSC by grabbing positions advertised by the institution. If we allow politicians to grab vacancies in TSC then there will be no fairness in recruitment of teachers in the country. Your son or daughter will not have a chance to be hired as a teacher if politicians are allowed to grab positions to reward their cronies,” said Omboko.

Omboko asked TSC to remain professional by allocating all job positions equally across the country. Omboko said TSC should hire teachers fairly so that all teachers who are trained are given jobs fairly.
