Pipeline Estate residents in Nairobi’s Embakasi South constituency can finally breathe a sigh of relief after decisive action was taken against a notorious strip club accused of disrupting peace in the densely populated residential area.

In a statement issued in the wee hours of Saturday, August 16, 2025, Nairobi County Environment and Climate Change Chief Officer Geoffrey Mosiria confirmed that the establishment—which has been operating in the heart of the estate—had long been a source of noise pollution and discomfort for families and children living nearby.

“In response to persistent complaints from residents of Pipeline Estate, we have taken firm action against a notorious strip club operating in the heart of the residential area. The establishment has been a constant source of noise pollution, severely disrupting the peace and well-being of the surrounding community,” Mosiria stated.

Loud music

The action follows weeks of complaints from residents who accused the club of blaring loud music late into the night, attracting rowdy patrons, and lowering the quality of life in the area.

Mosiria assured residents that immediate steps had already been taken to curb the disturbances and that further enforcement measures would follow to ensure the business remains shut.

In a video shared via his X account, enforcement officers are seen carrying away the club’s music system as Mosiria urges the revellers to continue with their party, but without the music.

“It is unacceptable for such a business to operate in the middle of a residential estate, where families and children live. We want to assure the public that we will not allow this to continue. We have taken immediate steps, and further enforcement will follow to protect the rights and safety of the residents,” he stated.

Noise pollution from churches

This comes just a day after Mosiria raised an alarm over rising noise pollution in Pipeline.

Taking to his official X account on Thursday, August 14, 2025, Mosiria warned that the county government will take decisive action to restore peace in the densely populated area.

He stated that while on an environmental clean-up exercise in Pipeline on Thursday, August 14, 2025, he was “deeply concerned” by the constant loud music from pastors and religious gatherings, which often runs throughout the day and night.

“Today, while undertaking environmental clean-up efforts in Pipeline, I observed with deep concern the increasing levels of noise pollution caused by numerous pastors and religious gatherings playing excessively loud music throughout the day and night. This is a densely populated residential area, and the constant noise is severely affecting the quality of life for many residents, especially children, the elderly, and those who are ill or working from home,” he stated.
