Public Service, Performance and Delivery Management Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria has censured Tigania East Member of Parliament (MP) Mpuru Aburi over his remarks about embattled Meru governor Kawira Mwangaza.

Kuria said Mpuru’s condescending utterances were regrettable and maintained that the push to impeach Kawira was on personal grounds.

“The impeachment was extremely personal and I think all Kenyans saw the kind of things Mpuru said about the governor. It’s regrettable. There should be some limits really,” Kuria said during his interview with a local media outlet.

In clips played during Kawira’s impeachment hearing in the Senate on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, Mpuru was heard issuing vile threats to molest the county boss bringing her to tears.

In the process, the Meru governor broke down in tears after she was asked to explain what Mpuru meant.

In the video that was played for senators, Mpuru while addressing a crowd through a movement dubbed Keberi said he would use a stick to molest Kawira while also terming her as a slut.

Kawira Mwangaza should be told to respect men. ‘Bring that stick, where is it?’. I have come with this stick replicating the male organ. The stick is for Kawira Mwangaza. This stick is for penetrating Kawira Mwangaza. She was sluted by men and became wide. She is only left with this stick as all men have left her. And she will know I usually say it and it happens. Do you want us to insert it inside her?” Mpuru Aburi said in the video that was played before the Senators.

Meanwhile, Kawira Mwangaza remains the Governor of Meru County after the Senate saved her once again.

The majority of the elected senators voted against all the seven charges that Kawira faced.
