More than 50 secondary school students were yesterday apprehended at an entertainment joint in Nakuru town smoking bhang and watching pornographic videos. 

The students, who were on their way home after closing for the August holiday were rounded up by county law enforcement officers after tenants in the building grew suspicious on the number of students at the area. 

According to Nakuru Town East Enforcement Officer James Kinanga, they swiftly moved to the premises and arrested the suspects.

“The public saw large groups of students in uniform getting into the premise,” he said. 

Seven operators of the PlayStations among them two minors were arrested. 

The officers also confiscated laptops that are set for screening. The boys were from schools in Nandi, Londiani, Rongai and Molo among other regions. 

Investigations

Most schools closed on Wednesday to allow them to travel to their respective homes. Some were heading to Mombasa, Nairobi, Mau Narok, Thika, Limuru, Kapsabet and Kericho. Kinanga said investigations have been launched to arraign the operators.
