Moi University has been closed indefinitely after students protested over alleged poor management of the institution.

The students demonstrated against new rules governing the use of the university hostels.

The university has also increased the fees for the supplementary exams from Sh400 to Sh1,000 which students say is too high.

Deputy vice chancellor Professor Nathan Kimengi issued a notice on Friday directing students to vacate the main campus before 2pm.
