By , November 20, 2019

A Kiambu County Executive Committee (CEC) member allied to embattled Governor Ferdinand Waititu has been impeached.

This was after MCAs adopted a report to have Youth CEC  Karungo Thangwa removed from office citing incompetence and abuse of office.

The impeachment motion was tabled in the Assembly on Tuesday afternoon by Limuru East MCA Peter Karuga and was passed unanimously.

Assembly Speaker  Stephen Ndicho will now deliver the resolution to the Governor to dismiss Thang’wa.

Waititu has been ordered to stay out of office by the High Court pending completion of  graft cases against him.

His deputy James Nyoro is the acting governor.
