Mavoko land buying company directors to remain in custody

The directors of the society involved in Mavoko land tussle in Athi River, Machakoss county will remain in custody for six days to allow detectives to conclude their investigations.
The investigative officer in the matter, corporal Nicholas Osuri Otieno in a sworn affidavit had asked the court permission to detain Julius Mutie Mutua, Pascal Kiseli Basilio and Alex Kyalo Mutemi for 30 days to complete investigation.
The officer told the court that the three suspects are the officials and directors of the Aimi Ma Lukenya and Kitanda Na Mbusya society groups which are suspected to have been forged a title deed of the land parcel No. LR No. 10424 which is legally owned by East African Portland Cement (EAPC).
Osuri is investigating the allegations of conspiracy to defraud contrary to section 317 of the penal code and obtaining money by false pretences which is linked with the three suspects.
He told the court that the director of EAPC Oliver Kirubai reported the matter to DCI that they are the registered legal owners of land parcels reference numbers 7815/1, 8784/4, 10423/3 which are originating from LR No.10424 and 10425 all situated in Mavoko sub-county in Machakos county.
Kirubai complained that the cement company was facing invasion of the said land parcels by the two groups and several individuals who had proceeded to subdivide the land and sell it to investors and individuals who have erected permanent and semi-permanent structures.
