Ruto to conclude Nairobi tour

President William Ruto is expected to wind up his tour of Nairobi County on Friday, March 14, 2025, after spending the last four days in various constituencies in the city.

The trips are expected to continue in Eastlands areas of Embakasi as the president ends the week-long tour of the city to popularize his development agenda.

Ruto has been on a development tour of the city where he has launched several projects and promised more, especially for schools and communities living in informal settlements.

During his tour of Mathare and Kibera, Ruto promised to elevate the sprawling slums into decent estates with elaborate hygiene infrastructure, electricity, and schools.

The Head of State equally drummed up support for his recent pact with the ODM party aimed at stabilising the government, spurring growth, and ensuring inclusivity.

The pact has, however, elicited criticism from a section of leaders who have chided Ruto for what they term the exclusion of the Mt. Kenya region leaders allied to former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

Students expect disbursement

Students in universities will be expecting disbursements from the government to their accounts after President Ruto promised that the funds will be available to them by Friday, March 14, 2025.

While touring the Dagoretti area on March 12, 2025, Ruto revealed that the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) will be disbursing funds to the thousands of university students in the country.

“We have been having issues when it comes to HELB. So yesterday, I was with the leaders in charge, and they said there were some issues with the HELB Board,” Ruto said.

“Today, the Head of Public Service is attending to the issues, and I have told them that by Friday, the money should be released to the youth of this country,” he added.

Fuel prices review

The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) is expected to review fuel prices today, after the February fuel prices remained unchanged.

The purpose of the Petroleum Pricing Regulations is to cap the retail prices of petroleum products that are already in the country so that importation and other prudently incurred costs are recovered while ensuring reasonable prices to consumers.
