A middle-aged man in Namarambi Village in Bungoma brutally attacked his wife then hanged himself following a domestic brawl on Tuesday morning.

According to his brother Martin Kapilo, the deceased, Maurice Natembeya and his wife have been having quarrels for sometime and efforts to reconcile them had been futile.

Kapilo said that in June last year, the deceased injured his wife but evaded police arrest by hiding in a sugarcane plantation.

“I have been advising my brother to stop mishandling and harassing his wife, but he has never listened,” regretted Kapilo.

She was taken to Webuye Sub-County Hospital.

Area chief Douglas Wanyonyi condemned the incident, and called on married couples to seek help whenever they have domestic problems.
