Man arrested over Kileleshwa break-ins as detectives recover stolen electronics valued at Ksh900K
By Ndiritu Wanjiru, June 4, 2026Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have arrested a person of interest linked to serial burglary and recovered stolen items valued at approximately Ksh900,000 following a break-in at a residential apartment complex in Kileleshwa in Nairobi County.
Taking it to their X handle on Thursday, June 3, 2026, the DCI said that the person of interest was apprehended by officers from the Crime Research and Intelligence Bureau (CRIB) Kilimani after two residents of Serengeti Court reported that their homes had been broken into and valuables stolen during a night raid.
“Detectives from the Crime Research and Intelligence Bureau (CRIB) Kilimani have apprehended a notorious burglar, recovering a treasure trove of stolen items in the process,” DCI noted in a statement.
“Under the cover of darkness, he brazenly infiltrated their homes, leaving chaos in his wake and making off with valuables valued at approximately Ksh900,000,” the statement added.

According to the DCI, the person of interest is believed to have gained access to the residences under the cover of darkness and made away with a range of electronic devices and personal belongings, leaving the victims counting significant losses.
The detectives have confirmed that following the report, they launched an intensive investigation and manhunt that led them to Millennium Apartments along Thiongo Road in Kangemi, where the individual was arrested.
Recovery of items
The recovered property included a base-proof light headset, a gaming console charging system, an iPad 11, a JBL portable speaker, an iPhone 14 Pro Max, and PlayStation accessories.
The complainants later positively identified the recovered items as those stolen from their homes, providing investigators with crucial evidence linking the person of interest to the burglary.

The DCI said the recovered electronics, once cherished household possessions, had become evidence in what investigators describe as a criminal operation targeting residents.
The detectives said the individual will remain in police custody as detectives finalise investigations and prepare to arraign him in court.
The DCI has also urged members of the public to continue sharing information on criminal activities through its anonymous reporting channels as part of ongoing efforts to combat crime across the country.
