Kenyan leaders have joined Muslim faithful in marking Eid al-Adha celebrations by sharing messages of peace, unity and compassion with communities across the country.
In separate posts shared on their X accounts on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, Cabinet Secretary for Youth Affairs, Creative Economy and Sports, Salim Mvurya and CS, Interior and National Administration, Kipchumba Murkomen, extended Eid Mubarak wishes to Muslims while calling for unity, humility and service to humanity.
Murkomen also shared a goodwill message recognising the importance of Eid celebrations among the Muslim community and urged Kenyans to continue embracing peaceful coexistence and mutual respect during the festive season
“As we celebrate Eid al-Adha, may the values of sacrifice, compassion, unity and faith continue to guide us as a nation. Wishing all Muslim faithful peaceful and blessed celebrations. Eid Mubarak,” Kipchumba Murkomen said.

He further wished Muslim faithful peaceful celebrations filled with joy, good health and blessings.
“Wishing all our Muslim brothers and sisters a peaceful and blessed Eid ul Adha filled with joy, good health and abundant blessings. Eid Mubarak,” he added.
The leaders’ messages come as Muslim faithful across Kenya and around the world prepare to mark Eid ul Adha, one of the most significant religious celebrations in the Islamic calendar.
The occasion commemorates faith, sacrifice and devotion and is traditionally marked through prayers, acts of charity and family gatherings.
Calls for unity and peaceful coexistence
The messages from national leaders also come at a time when the country continues to experience heightened political activity ahead of the 2027 General Election, with leaders increasingly calling for unity and peaceful coexistence among communities.
Analysts say national celebrations such as Eid provide an opportunity for leaders to reinforce values of tolerance, social harmony and national unity at a time when public discourse remains politically charged.
Muslim leaders and faithful are expected to gather in mosques and prayer grounds across the country as part of the Eid celebrations.
