Labour CS Alfred Mutua announces final day for govt overseas job drive

Cabinet Secretary for Labour and Social Protection, Alfred Mutua, has announced that Friday, 31st October 2025, marks the final day of recruitment in Nairobi and Mombasa.

In a statement posted on X, Dr. Mutua urged eligible Kenyans not to miss the opportunity, saying, “Friday, 31st October marks the final day of recruitment in Nairobi and Mombasa. Please refer to the poster below for full details. Don’t miss this opportunity!”

The government, in partnership with credible recruitment agencies, invites qualified male and female candidates for overseas job interviews and placements in reputable companies. The initiative targets positions in Dubai and Saudi Arabia, with specific roles, age requirements, and benefits clearly outlined.

Overseas job opportunities

In Dubai, available positions include taxi drivers (350) aged 22-45, riders and delivery drivers (500) aged 21-38, warehouse and e-pickers/helpers (500) aged 21-40, security guards (150) aged 21-38 with a minimum height of 5’7″ and fluent English, cleaners (male and female) aged 22-35, waitresses and housekeepers aged 22-35, and masons, steel fixers, carpenters, and general labourers (175) aged 21-45.

Benefits for Dubai placements include a two-year renewable contract, free accommodation, food, transport and medical cover, overtime pay per UAE labour laws, and 30 days annual leave.

In Saudi Arabia, openings include drivers (50) and mechanics (25) aged 21-45. Benefits include accommodation, food and transport, medical insurance, and a two-year contract.

Interview requirements and locations

Candidates are required to bring their national ID, academic certificates, passport or proof of application, passport-sized photos, and relevant work documents.

Interviews will be held at NITA Athi River, Nairobi, and NITA Mombasa. A note in the announcement states that a mandatory commission applies covering air ticket, medical, training, service fee, visa and documentation. Applicants are advised to arrive early, carry a packed lunch, and be ready to secure a job.

Government commitment

Mutua emphasised the government’s commitment, stating, “This initiative reflects the Government’s commitment to empowering Kenyans with meaningful jobs abroad under safe and fair conditions,” read the statement dated October 31, 2025.

The recruitment drive concludes on Friday, 31st October 2025, with interviews taking place simultaneously in Nairobi and Mombasa.
