KUCCPS releases KMTC September 2025 placement results
By Aloys Michael, July 18, 2025The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has officially announced the release of placement results for students who applied to join the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) for the September 2025 intake.
In a statement issued on Friday, July 18, 2025, KUCCPS urged all applicants to confirm their admission status via the KUCCPS Student Portal.
“Placement results for the KMTC September 2025 intake are out. Applicants should log in to the KUCCPS Student Portal to check,” the agency said.

To access their results, students must log in using their KCSE index number, the year they sat for the KCSE, and their password. For passwords, applicants are advised to use either their KCPE index number or their birth certificate number.
Alongside the results release, KUCCPS has opened the application window for inter-institutional transfers for students who wish to move from one campus or institution to another. This transfer window will remain open until August 24, 2025.
Students who have secured placement in KMTC programmes are required to follow the instructions provided on the portal to adequately prepare for admission.
Applications for the September 2025 intake were initially opened on June 23, 2025, and remained open until July 7, 2025. During this period, prospective students could apply for preservice certificate and diploma courses.

Those interested in higher diploma programmes, upgrading courses, or short-term courses were directed to submit their applications through the KMTC admissions portal.
HELB loans
In support of the September intake, the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) opened its loan application window a week before the KUCCPS portal went live. This joint initiative with KMTC was designed to financially support students by offering loans to cover tuition and other educational expenses.
KUCCPS confirmed that 26 academic programmes were available for the September 2025 intake, covering both diploma and certificate levels.
“All students applying must follow the outlined steps carefully to ensure a successful application,” KMTC emphasised in its advisory.
Meanwhile, A higher education crisis is brewing and for thousands of students from low-income families, a university dream may turn into a nightmare.
HELB confirmed what many feared: it doesn’t have the money to issue new student loans this year.
Despite needing Ksh48 billion in the last financial year, it received only Ksh26 billion forcing over 100,000 students to go without full support last year. Some received full funding while others only got upkeep money.
