KNEC invites teachers to apply for examiner training
The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has invited qualified teachers and teacher educators to apply for training as examiners. The training covers the Kenya Junior School Education Assessment (KJSEA), the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE), and Teacher Education assessments.
KNEC posted the invitation on its official X account.
“We invite qualified teachers and teacher educators to apply for training as examiners for KJSEA, KCSE examination and Teacher Education assessments.”
The post also noted that slots are limited and applicants will be shortlisted on a first-come, first-served basis.
The application window opened in February 2026, and the training is scheduled between March and April. This training prepares examiners for national exams set for October and November.
The training combines online and residential components. Shortlisted trainees receive directions to access online materials first, then attend residential sessions at designated venues. KNEC emphasises that the exercise remains strictly residential for the in-person parts.
Shortlisted candidates are required to pay a training fee of Ksh10,500. KNEC emphasises that payment is only made after selection and notification through SMS and the portal. No fees apply at the application stage.
