KMTC releases thousands of transcripts to help graduates secure jobs

By , April 1, 2026

The Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) has released about 13,000 transcripts for students who sat the January–February 2026 Final Qualifying Examinations, in a move aimed at helping graduates secure jobs without delay.

The college announced the release on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, saying the step will improve access to key academic documents that many employers require during recruitment.

KMTC said it has changed how it issues transcripts after realising that the old system slowed down graduates. In the past, students received their transcripts during graduation, which often came too late for those applying for jobs immediately after finishing their studies.

Chief Executive Officer Kelly Oluoch said the decision followed growing demand from both graduates and employers.

“We are responding to requests from our students who require these documents to pursue job opportunities. Previously, transcripts were issued during graduation, but we noted that this approach limited timely access,” he said.

He added that KMTC continues to receive requests from recruitment agencies seeking to verify academic documents. This, he said, reflects the strong demand for KMTC-trained health workers in Kenya and abroad.

Faster access, wider reach

The college has in recent years invested in digitising academic records and decentralising its services. These changes aim to ensure students can access documents faster and with fewer delays.

Oluoch said KMTC has also put in place a coordinated system to distribute the transcripts across its campuses.

“We prioritise efficiency to ensure that our students receive their transcripts without unnecessary delays. This is a critical document that directly supports their transition into the job market,” he said.

Under the new system, eligible graduates will collect their transcripts from their respective Heads of Department offices at campus level. The college said students only need to present a valid identification card, and no extra fees will be charged.

The move comes at a time when KMTC is working to improve service delivery amid rising demand for its programmes and graduates. The institution, which trains a large share of Kenya’s healthcare workforce, has seen increasing interest from both local and international employers.

Portal delays, scam warning

In March, the college also dealt with heavy traffic on its admissions portal after releasing letters for the March 2026 intake. The system slowed down as many applicants tried to access their letters at the same time.

KMTC later asked students to remain patient and warned them against fraudsters who often take advantage of such situations. The college said scammers usually contact applicants through unofficial channels, asking for money in exchange for admission letters or assistance.

“Applicants are strongly cautioned to beware of fraudsters who may take advantage of this situation by claiming they can help you access or secure admission letters for a fee,” the college said at the time.

KMTC maintained that all official documents are issued through its authorised platforms and that no payments are required outside the approved systems.

The release of transcripts now addresses one of the key concerns raised by graduates. By making the documents available earlier, KMTC aims to ensure its students do not miss out on job opportunities due to delays in paperwork.
