Kitale: Police apprehend 6, recover assorted electronic devices in crackdown
By Joel Masibo, September 29, 2025Police officers in Kitale, Trans-Nzoia County, have managed to recover assorted electronic devices, with six persons of interest apprehended.
In a statement released on Monday, September 29, 2025, the National Police Service (NPS) confirmed the development after the calculated raid.
”In a targeted security operation carried out in the early hours of this morning in the Burma Slums in Kitale Town, police officers successfully apprehended six suspects believed to be involved in a range of criminal activities. During the raid, officers recovered assorted electronic devices suspected to be stolen property, four litres of chang’aa, and several crude weapons believed to have been used in committing various crimes,” NPS said.

The statement further revealed that the persons of interest were being held in custody pending processing and arraignment in court, while the recovered evidence has been secured at the station. ”This operation is part of sustained efforts by the National Police Service to enhance public safety and deter criminal activity across the country,” the statement added.
Other related cases
Elsewhere, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) detectives in Makindu recently arrested two men suspected of being behind a string of highway motor vehicle thefts. The two persons of interest are accused of orchestrating robberies targeting vehicles headed to Uganda as well as unregistered cars bearing Kenya Dealers (KD) plates.
In one incident on Monday, August 28, 2025, the pair are reported to have robbed a black Toyota Harrier with KD plates from a motorist in the Makindu area. ”Following their arrest along the Mombasa-Nairobi highway, detectives recovered several items, including a set of registration plates (KDR 885Z), three ID cards belonging to different people, five mobile phones, a wheel spanner, and other assorted items,” DCI said in a statement on Saturday, September 27, 2025.
Also, police in Embu have apprehended three persons of interest believed to be behind a cross-county stock theft syndicate operating in Embu and Kirinyaga. The operation led to the recovery of a heifer suspected to have been stolen from Kianjoma, a Friesian cow believed to have been stolen from Karatina, ten goats, five kids, and one sheep. All three men were put in custody to undergo processing, pending arraignment.
