Kindiki draws massive crowd at his Tharaka Nithi residence during Christmas giveaway

Thousands of Tharaka Nithi locals have flocked to the home of Deputy President Kithure Kindiki for Christmas giveaways.

The event saw his kinsmen from Tharaka Nithi County gather on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, at his Irundini home, with the Deputy President addressing the multitude from the sunroof of his vehicle.

This comes days after the Deputy President went out of the public eye, with earlier claims of him being unwell going viral.

These claims were initially reinforced by Public Service Cabinet Secretary Geoffrey Ruku, who, during a goat auction in Kimalel, relayed a message at the Kimalel goat auction in Baringo stating that the Deputy President would not attend the high-level event because he was unwell.

However, in the same forum, the President contradicted Ruku’s earlier statement on Kindiki’s health, saying that the reason he did not attend the historic goat auction was that he had assigned him other duties.

He said Kindiki had been tasked with steering a committee responsible for coming up with ways to mitigate the ravaging drought in the North.

Mbeere North Win

Kindiki also came out amid escalating claims of him being under the weather to set the record straight, stating that he was well and there was no issue.

During the massive giveaway, Kindiki emerged with no visible signs of ill health, roaring back with his new slogans “fire si fire,” “noma si noma,” and “mbegeswe,” which were well received by his kinsmen, who responded in unison.

During the forum, Kindiki called upon Kenyans travelling to different parts of the country for the festivities to exercise caution while using the roads to avoid accidents that could claim lives.

Kindiki’s political moves

This comes at a time when Kindiki’s political muscle in Mount Kenya appears to be steadily building and gaining traction after his recent win in Mbeere North against an opposition-backed candidate, Newton Karish, proving that he is indeed the “fire si fire” he has been boasting about.

It also comes at a time when politicians are rushing back to their jurisdictions for Christmas and New Year giveaways in order to share with their electorates. Kapsaret MP Oscar Sudi was among the most recent leaders to draw national attention after holding a massive giveaway at his Kapsaret residence.
