Kindiki extolled the veteran lawyer’s leadership acumen since taking the reins at the county while endorsing his candidacy for an extended tenure.
Two-Term governor
“In the legal fraternity, Orengo is a towering figure, a larger than life, an impeccable lawyer and accomplished senior counsel. If you were to make comparisons, he is way above me. He is a brilliant and committed leader,” he said in his praise.
“We are happy that he is the governor of Siaya, and i hope you will make him a two term governor,” he stated
On his part, the Siaya Governor hailed the law professor as an equally focused leader.
Inspiring journey
He acknowledged Kindiki’s contributions in the legal field and his immense contributions in the Kenyan senate and the nation at large.
“Kindiki is a person I know very well from our time back. During our time in the Senate, he was an effusive speaker. He is a lawyer of repute, a university don who has lectured in renowned schools and the International Criminal Courts,” he stated.

Orengo also spoke of the DP’s journey to Kenya’s third deputy president as a motivation to many politicians and individuals.
“I am very proud of you, and seeing you as the Deputy President of Kenya, the sky is the limit for every one of us,” Orengo said while welcoming the DP.
Speaking at the function, Kindiki allayed fears over Raila Odinga’s health, assuring the masses that the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader was fit as a fiddle.
“Mimi nimeona kuna watu wameanza kutakia maovu wengine. Kwanza, kabla sijafika hapa, nimeomba ruhusa Mheshimiwa Prime Minister Raila Odinga anajua niko hapa. Nimezungumza na yeye, vile Governor Orengo amesema, in the hearing of Governor James Orengo, in the hearing of Oburu Odinga,” Kindiki said.
He condemned those spreading ill wishes toward Raila, saying it goes against African traditions to wish anyone harm, even one’s worst enemy.
“Mweshimiwa Raila Odinga is safe and healthy. I’ve spoken to him. Those who are wishing him ill are not good people,” he added.
