Kilifi Woman Rep apologises to voters after she was booed

Kilifi Woman Rep Gertrude Mbeyu has asked for forgiveness from the electorates in Malindi constituency for ‘failing’ to deliver campaign promises she made ahead of the 2017 election.
She said her work was made difficult particularly in the Malindi constituency when she differed with the area MP Aisha Jumwa during the Ganda ward by-elections.
The Kilifi Woman Rep, who has been facing increasing criticisms, was booed by ODM supporters during rallies including those attended by party leader Raila Odinga.
A week ago some ODM supporters from Malindi declared publicly that they will not vote for a six-peace pattern in Kilifi as they seek to replace Mbeyu with Nominated Senator Christine Zawadi of PAA who is also eying the Malindi constituency seat.
“I ask you for forgiveness Malindi people, I ask for forgiveness your MP blocked me from performing, you remember the Ganda ward by-election violence since then I have not been able to deliver,” she said.
Mbeyu said she only managed to work closely with Kakuyuni MCA Nixon Muramba and his Shella ward counterpart Kadenge Mwathethe who helped her issue scholarships.
Kilifi Woman Rep asks electorates not to vote for UDA
Mbaya cautioned her constituents that if they fail to vote for her then they would be voting for a UDA candidate. Kilifi County in general is a stronghold of the ODM party.
“Forgive me all humans are not complete, I Mbeyu am not complete, but if you reject Mbeyu you will vote for UDA, if you reject Mbeyu you will vote for Women Rep from PAA,” the Kilifi Woman Rep said.
