Interior Principal Secretary Karanja Kibicho has castigated Deputy President William Ruto for writing to the National Intelligence Service (NIS) seeking answers to his claim that the secret service report showed Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya presidential flagbearer leading the presidential race.

Speaking in Kirinyaga County, Kibicho maintained that his remarks were credible defending that he would provide proof if necessary.

“I have many sources where I get information, not only from the NIS. I have so much confidential information and if asked to give it out for the sake of the public well-being, I’m in a position to do so, “Kibicho stated.

He added: “Therefore, the information we give is grounded on truth and not for the sake of impressing,”

While citing Ruto’s previous remarks that he also had intelligence reports that indicated that he was leading in the presidential race, the PS further accused Ruto of double talk stating that he was putting a moral bar which he cannot get to.

Ruto writes to NIS

Kibicho’s sentiments come days after Ruto and the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party wrote a letter to the NIS seeking clarity on the intelligence reports.

“Unless the Board or the Office of the Director-General of NIS provides a reasoned and acceptable finding or explanation to the complaint herein within 14 days of this letter, the Complainant shall pursue further legal action,

“Whether the Director-General authorised and or allowed the release of NIS Reports or polling information for the subsequent use by the said PS to advance the interests and cause of the Azimio Party and to undermine the confidence of Kenyans in the fairness of the presidential electoral process,” they wrote.
