KeRRA chair Anthony Mwaura’s mother dies

Kenya Rural Roads Authority (KeRRA) Chairperson and UDA Elections Board head Anthony Mwaura is mourning the death of his mother, Consolata Wanjiru Mwaura.

The family has received messages of condolence from leaders across the country, with President William Ruto leading in sending his sympathies.

In his message, President Ruto described Mama Wanjiru as a respected community figure who dedicated much of her life to serving and guiding others.

“Our heartfelt condolences to my friend, the Chair of KeRRA and UDA Elections Board, Anthony Mwaura and the entire family on the passing of your beloved mother, Consolata Wanjiru Mwaura,” Ruto said.

He said the late Wanjiru stood out for her leadership and the impact she had on people around her.

“Mama Wanjiru will be remembered for her remarkable leadership, her deep love for her community, and her generosity. She mentored many and touched countless lives through her wisdom, kindness, and selfless service,” he said.

Nation stands with family

Ruto added that the government and the country stand with the family during this difficult period.

“At this painful time, we stand with you in grief and prayer, asking God to grant you strength and comfort. May Mama’s soul rest in peace,” he added.

Other political leaders, friends, and members of the public also shared messages of comfort, describing Mama Wanjiru as a humble and caring woman who positively influenced many lives in her community.

They noted that her legacy would be remembered through the people she mentored and the values she upheld.

Further details on the burial and memorial service are expected to be communicated by the family once arrangements are finalised.

As news of her passing spread, messages of condolence continued to pour in from different parts of the country, with many Kenyans joining leaders in offering support to the bereaved family.

The family has asked for privacy as they mourn their loved one.
