Kenya’s Covid-19 vaccine doses to reach 25 million by end of this month – Government
Kenya expects to add Covid-19 vaccine doses to 25 million by the end of the year, National Taskforce on Vaccine Deployment Chairperson Dr. Willis Akhwale said on Thursday.
Kenya has already commenced mass Covid-19 vaccinations.
“Even with the emergence of variants, vaccines have continued to offer protection.
“Some 95 per cent of current admissions in the country are the unvaccinated with statistics indicating that the unvaccinated shed more viruses than the vaccinated,” Akhwale said.
He added that vaccinations remain key in building a herd immunity among the population.
As of December 1, 2021, a total of 7,303,643 vaccines had been administered across the country.
Of these, 4,483,815 were partially vaccinated while those fully vaccinated were 2,819,828.
