By Luke Oluoch, September 24, 2025The National Museums of Kenya has announced free entry to all its museums, sites, and monuments across the country on Saturday, September 27, and Sunday, September 28, 2025.
The National Museums of Kenya revealed the development through its X page on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, adding that the event will form part of the celebration of World Tourism Day.
World Tourism Day will be observed on Saturday, September 27, 2025.
The offer will, however, be exclusively to Kenyan citizens only.

“The National Museums of Kenya is pleased to announce that in celebration of World Tourism Day, there will be FREE ENTRY to all our museums, sites, and monuments across the country on Saturday, 27th and Sunday, 28th September 2025,” part of the statement read.
They further extended an invitation for all Kenyans to take advantage of the free access.
“We welcome you to take this opportunity to explore, learn, and celebrate Kenya’s rich cultural and natural heritage,” the NMK stated.
The invitation comes days after Tourism CS Rebecca Miano also announced that Kenya’s national parks, reserves, and sanctuaries will be opening their gates for the public on Saturday, September 27, 2025.

In a statement on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, through the Kenya Wildlife Service X, Miano implored kenyans to grab the chance to explore the country’s world-renowned wildlife destinations for free.
“The United Nations World Tourism Day is celebrated annually on 27th September, and this year’s theme, ‘Tourism and Sustainable Transformation’, reminds us of the power of tourism to drive positive change for communities, conservation, and the economy,” Miano said in a statement.
“I am thrilled to announce that the Government of Kenya is offering free entry to all Kenyan citizens to visit Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS)-managed national parks, reserves, and sanctuaries on Saturday, September 27, 2025,” she said.
The CS explained that the day presents a chance for Kenyans to connect with their natural heritage.
“This initiative is an opportunity for every Kenyan to reconnect with our breathtaking wildlife heritage, deepen our collective commitment to conservation, and experience the unparalleled beauty of our natural treasures,” she said.
