Kenya Power lists areas to experience blackout on Thursday, March 26
Kenya Power has listed areas that will experience planned power outages on Thursday, March 26, 2026, due to maintenance work. The company shared the schedule on its social media accounts on Wednesday evening, along with a detailed document of affected locations.
“Good evening. The following areas are scheduled for planned power maintenance tomorrow, 26.03.2026. We apologise for any inconvenience caused,” Kenya Power said in the social media post.
In Westlands, Nairobi, power will be unavailable from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. The affected streets include Peponi Road, Lower Kabete Road, General Mathenge, and Mwanzi Road. Key commercial locations such as Glam Hotel, KAM, Bid Wood Apartments, KANHA Plaza, Westlands Square, Oil Libya Westlands, and Ring Road will also be affected, alongside adjacent customers.
In the Karen area, outages will also run from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Locations affected include Karen Police Station, Tree Lane, St. Elizabeth Secondary School, parts of Windyridge, Talisman, Asmara, Westwood, Ngong Dairy, and Mwitu Estate.
Other spots include Mwitu Drive, Mutero Ridge, Mutero Rise, Mutero PCEA, Kerarapon Road, Gamoro Carwash, Eagle Church, Kerarapon Shell, Total Petrol Station Kerarapon, KCB Leadership Centre, Karen Community Church, Ngong View Estate, and nearby customers.

Other parts
Outside Nairobi, parts of Samburu County, including Suguta, Mararal, and Kisima, will face outages from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Areas affected include Kisima, Major General Lenges, Lonyek, Yare, Marar, Ngamata, Kirimor, Mararal Township, Poror, Churo, Samburu Wings of Mercy, and surrounding customers.
In Uasin Gishu County, the towns of Lingwai, Chuiyat, and Bindura will experience outages between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm. The power disruption will cover Bindura, Lengwai, Chuiyat, Kamuywo, Usalama Koisagat, and adjacent customers.
Nyeri County residents in Gatugi and Gura will also be affected from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, including Gatugi C/Fact, Mbari ya Ngai, Giathenge Market, Gathera Market, Karima Mission, Gura C/Fact, Gathaithi C/Fact, FT Nyamu Secondary, Kiagi, Kagongo, and Gura Thuthi Research.
Laikipia County areas such as Sirimon, Timau, and Ngusishi will have power cut from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, while parts of Kirinyaga, including Difathas, Karuagi, and Piai, will be affected from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
In Kiambu County, Ndumbuini and part of Kinoo 87 will experience outages from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, affecting Ndumbuini Market, UON Kabete Vet, Uthiru 87, Uthiru Girls, Njathaini, Kanyariri Market, Kanyariri Police, and nearby customers.
