Kenya Power announces scheduled electricity outages across four regions on Thursday

Kenya Power has announced planned power interruptions scheduled for Thursday, December 18, 2025, to facilitate network maintenance.

The company said the outages are part of routine maintenance aimed at improving service reliability across the country.

“Good Evening, the following areas will be on a planned power maintenance tomorrow (18.12.2025),” Kenya Power informed customers on Wednesday, December 17, 2025.

The planned interruptions will affect multiple regions, including Nairobi, North Rift, and South Nyanza, with specific locations and times outlined to help residents and businesses prepare.

Nairobi

In Nairobi County, areas along Ngong Road will experience power interruptions from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Affected locations include Mutuini Primary, Kivuli Centre, Cabby Centre, Riruta Police, Kabiria Road, part of the Southern Bypass, Ngotho Road, part of Wanyee Road, The Bull Restaurant, Kinyanjui Technical, Kinyanjui Road, Pathenious, and adjacent customers. Residents and businesses are advised to plan accordingly and ensure backup power arrangements where necessary.

North Rift region outages

In Uasin Gishu County, power will be suspended in Moiben, Kabomoi, and Meibeki areas from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, affecting Moiben Centre, Kabomoi, Kokwet, Chebororwo, Koitugum, Meibeki, Kapsigilai, and adjacent customers.

Parts of Nandi County, including Tembwo and Koimet, will experience outages from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, impacting Koyo Market, Koyo T/Factory, Koimet, Kundos Village, and surrounding areas. Kenya Power has urged residents to exercise caution during the outages and to avoid using electrical appliances unnecessarily.

South Nyanza region scheduled maintenance

In Homa Bay County, power will be interrupted in parts of Sindo, Nyandiwa, and Magunga from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Affected locations include Mbita High School, Gingo, Victoria Sands, Sindo, Nyatoto, Nyabera, Victory Farm, Nyandiwa, Kiabuya, Magunga, Ruma National Park, and adjacent customers.
