Kenya Police FC finally atoned for the many dropped points after a 2-0 win over Mully Children’s Family to push them to the apex of the second tier Betika National Super League.

Police had endured nine straight draws before their victory against the newcomers at Ruaraka grounds on Saturday to put Police back on track with 43 points off 25 matches.

Goals from Samuel Ndung’u and Alvin Magengi were enough to put a smile back on coach Francis Mwangi’s face. This was Police’s 10th win of the campaign.

 With at least 13 matches to go before the season ends, Police are keen to maintain the top status in an effort to get promotion.

Meanwhile, Kibera Black Stars chalked their third consecutive win against Coast Stima 2-1 to move to second on the log.

The side are now an impressive second with 42 points with the Sunday win their 12th of the campaign. 

Coach Elvis Ayany has warned that it was still too early to start celebrations: “We continue to take it one match at a time and that is what helps us.

It is always against low teams that it’s difficult to pick points and therefore against Coast Stima we had to work harder.

Otherwise I am happy this far and hopefully we will continue the momentum.

The season is long but we are looking ahead with confidence.”  Goals against the Powermen came through Robert Mbugua in the fifth minute and Daniel Odhiambo in the 89th minute.

Elsewhere, Shabana drew 2-2 draw with lowly Mt.Kenya United. Fourth placed Shabana conceded in the 89th minute through Kayci Odhiambo to rob the Gusii based side full points.

Last Sunday Shabana also lost 2-1 to the fast rising Kibera Black Stars. In another contest played Saturday, Nairobi Stima’s steady rise continued after their 2-1 win over visiting  APS Bomet. 

Stima are now up to 13th with 29 points following a spate of poor results earlier.

The Administration side are eighth on the log with 34 points after 24 matches and are arguably safe.
