Kenya and Denmark partner to boost digital transformation in public services
Kenya has taken a significant step in its journey toward digital transformation in public service delivery, formalising a strategic partnership with the Government of Denmark.
The collaboration was cemented through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Nairobi, marking a new chapter in cooperation between the two countries.
Cabinet Secretary for ICT William Kabogo on Thursday, November 6, 2025, announced, Kenya-Denmark partnership.
“A significant milestone in our digital transformation journey was achieved today as we formalised a new partnership with the Government of Denmark through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding,” William Kabogo stated on X.

The MoU was signed on behalf of Denmark by H.E. Stephan Schønemann, the Ambassador of Denmark to Kenya, reflecting a mutual commitment to advancing public sector digitalisation and modernising citizen-centred services.
The partnership is expected to strengthen knowledge sharing, foster innovation, and enhance the capacity of Kenya’s public institutions to leverage technology for better service delivery.
“This strategic collaboration will unlock joint opportunities in areas such as digital public infrastructure, interoperability frameworks, capacity building, policy dialogue, knowledge exchanges, and expert forums between our two nations,” Kabogo added, highlighting the wide-ranging benefits of the initiative.

Experts say that the MoU will provide a platform for Kenya to accelerate its adoption of digital tools, improve efficiency, and make government services more accessible to citizens.
By working closely with Denmark, a country recognised for its advanced digital governance, Kenya aims to implement systems that are not only technologically advanced but also user-friendly and inclusive.
The agreement signals a broader commitment to fostering partnerships that promote innovation and learning between nations, ultimately aiming to create a public service that is efficient, transparent, and responsive to citizens’ needs.

For Kenya, this collaboration represents a crucial opportunity to strengthen its digital infrastructure, enhance public sector operations, and position the country as a regional leader in technology-driven governance.
Kabogo emphasised that this partnership is not only about technology but about improving the everyday lives of Kenyans by delivering services that are fast, reliable, and accessible to all.
