By , January 21, 2026

The Kenya National Highways Authority has issued a notice to the members of the public using the Kendubay-Homabay highway on a 10-day closure of the road to allow the construction of the bridge at Kanyadhiang.

The road will be closed for construction between Tuesday, January 27, 2026, and Thursday, February 5, 2026.

In a statement released by the authority on their social media platforms on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, the closure will allow for intervention for work on the bridge approach slab.

“KeNHA wishes to notify the public that a section of the Kendubay-Homa Bay (B2) Road at the Kanyadhiang Bridge will be closed to traffic for 10 days from Tuesday, January 27, 2026, to Thursday, February 5, 2026,” stated KeNHA.

Alternative route

During the construction period, members of the public have been advised by the authority to avoid traffic from Kendubay to Homabay by turning left at Goshen Hotel to Oluchintake Bridge to Nyanganjo Primary and later Obama Road.

This is vice versa for motorists who wish to navigate traffic from Homabay to Kendubay before rejoining the main road.

Observing traffic guidelines

During this period, the authority has, however, urged motorists to observe traffic management arrangements and comply with instructions from the police officers and traffic marshals and issued an apology for the inconvenience this may cause to the public in the course of their daily operations.
