Azimio la Umoja presidential running mate Martha Karua held a meeting with Nyeri Members of County Assembly candidates to solidify the coalition efforts to garner votes in the county.

Karua was accompanied to the meeting by Mathira parliamentary seat candidate Waruru Gikandi who is running on a Narc Kenya ticket. She said her meeting was aimed at ensuring all candidates affiliated with the party speak in one voice as they campaign together for the party flagbearer Raia Odinga.

Speaking after the meeting, Karua said she is sure that Odinga’s agenda is driven by all those seeking seats in affiliate parties.

“We are holding a series of meetings like this all over the country. We want to ensure that we work together for the common goal of ensuring our coalition win in the forthcoming polls,” Karua said.

Her sentiments were echoed by Gikandi, who said that despite several candidates seeking seats on different parties under Azimio, they want a proper representation of Odinga at the grassroots level.

“We are all inclined to one goal, ensuring that our party garner votes at the grassroots level, so we have to work together as one coalition,” Gikandi said.
