Homa Bay Town MP Peter Kaluma has told off a section of Mt Kenya leaders over their sustained criticism of President William Ruto’s governance.

In his statement shared via his official X account on Sunday, April 6, 2025, Kaluma accused the leaders of being dishonest, deceptive and hypocritical due to their true nature whenever they stop benefitting from Ruto.

He explained that oftenly most leaders from the region praise Ruth for as long as they can benefit from supporting him.

However, once they are dismissed they tend to pontificate about Ruto’s failures and how unfit he is for presidency.

“Some leaders from Mt. Kenya are a very dishonest, deceptive and hypocritical lot! They will sing to you how William Ruto is the best President and leader Kenya has ever had, looting the public coffers and stuffing their dockets with tribesmen like other Kenyans don’t exist, until they are sacked!

“Upon being dismissed, they move from one media station to the next and from church to church pontificating about how President Ruto is bad! We now know and can see through their chicanery,” Kaluma said.

Kaluma’s remarks follow after former Public Service CS Justin Muturi’s remarks on Ruto after he was sacked.

Muturi had called out Ruto accusing him of corruption in a tell-all interview with NTV‘s Fixing the Nation.

Speaking during the interview, Muturi claimed that Ruto was pretentious about fighting corruption yet he was secretly at the front of corruption deals worth billions.

Without mincing his words,Muturi boldly declared that Ruto was fond of portraying different characters behind closed doors and in public, accusing him of being a dangerous character.

“He is quite a dangerous character. I think Ruto is unfit for the position of president. I’ve no bitterness, this is my assessment. When I watched him talk to members of my Cabinet, saying I don’t want to see corruption, I wondered who is this talking?” Muturi posed.

“Yes, he (Ruto) is absolutely, very, irredeemably corrupt,” he added.
