Wiper Patriotic Front (WPF) leader Kalonzo Musyoka has singled out Kenyan fans for their incredible support of Harambee Stars during the CHAN qualifier clash against Madagascar on Friday, August 22, 2025, at the Moi Stadium, Kasarani.

Taking to his X page moments after Stars were eliminated from the competition through a post-match penalty shootout, Kalonzo acknowledged the fans’ role in creating a rousing atmosphere during the clash.

Incredible

“Our #TwelfthMan, you all are incredible. Your voices rang loudly and proudly in every corner of our beautiful land. “Continue to support the Total Energies CHAN 2024,” he stated while making reference to the football terminology of the 12th man, a term reserved for fans as the next players after the 11 who take to the pitch at any given time.

The former VP, who joined DCP party leader Rigathi Gachagua and his deputy, Cleophas Malala, at Kasarani, equally extolled the gallant performance of the team despite the heartbreaking loss.

@Harambee Stars You gave us the opportunity to believe, to dream, to be part of this beautiful game. You dug deep, and I salute you, our #HarambeeStars,” he added.

His remarks come amid an avalanche of similar praises that greeted Kenya’s end to the continental championship that ended at the knockout stages in only their debut appearance.

State House spokesperson Hussein Mohammed also challenged the team to chin up following what he termed a beautiful performance from Benni McCarthy’s team.

“Walk on, Harambee Stars. Never before in my lifetime have I witnessed a Kenyan national football team unite the country and embody the soul of the nation while still playing such beautiful football as you have. You’ll Never Walk Alone, Harambee Stars,” he stated.

“We bow out with pride. The HarambeeStars fought bravely, and though the journey ends here, the dream lives on. The future is bright!,” he stated.
