Junet sends appeal to unsuccessful ODM nomination contestants ahead of November by-elections
By Luke Oluoch, October 1, 2025Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Director of Elections Junet Mohammed has implored unsuccessful candidates from the party primaries to back the party’s nominees in the upcoming by-elections.
In a statement by the party on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, the Suna East MP led the call for unity after primary elections, emphasising the importance of supporting chosen candidates for the party’s benefit.
Party’s interest
He reiterated that the candidates’ victory will bring honour to the party and appealed to those who were not successful in the primaries to forgo their ambitions and support the winners in the interest of the party.
“We have to put the Party first. In any contest, there is a winner, and there are losers; this is the game,” he said.
His remarks followed after the party issued nomination certificates at a colourful ceremony held at the party headquarters at Chungwa House.

Moses Odhiambo Omondi will fly the party flag in the Ugunja constituency by-election as Boyd Were represents the party in the Kasipul Constituency.
Elsewhere, ODM officials in Ugenya strategise to reclaim the MP seat in 2027.
